OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – [February 11, 2026] Children’s Health Foundation of Oklahoma (CHF) is honored to announce a $20,000 grant from the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma in support of Mighty Mouth Kids Camp 2026. The funding will sustain Oklahoma’s only intensive group treatment program designed specifically for children with selective mutism.
Selective mutism is a severe anxiety disorder that prevents children from speaking in public settings, often leaving them unable to communicate with teachers, peers, or even extended family members. Mighty Mouth Kids Camp provides a structured, therapeutic environment where children practice using their “brave voices” through carefully guided exposures, interactive activities, mock real-world scenarios, and community-based outings.
Throughout the week, campers build communication skills in safe, supportive settings before applying those skills in public spaces. These intentional practice opportunities help children gain confidence, increase verbal participation at school, and strengthen social connections beyond camp.
“Support from the Masonic Charity Foundation makes life-changing progress possible for children with selective mutism,” said Brandon Brooks, CHF’s Chief Executive Officer. “Because of their generosity, families across our state have access to specialized care that empowers children to find their voices and thrive.”
