Donna Nigh Foundation Awards Grant to Children’s Health Foundation to Expand Accessibility for Oklahoma Children

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 22, 2026)— Children’s Health Foundation has received a $3,600 grant from the Donna Nigh Foundation to purchase portable, reusable adaptive support kits that will help children and youth with significant intellectual and developmental disabilities participate more fully in Sooner SUCCESS programs across Oklahoma.

The adaptive support kits will be used at educational events, sibling camps, family programming and community-based activities statewide. Designed to reduce participation barriers, each kit will include sensory regulation tools, visual communication supports, adaptive seating and calming resources to better meet the needs of children with complex disabilities.

Sooner SUCCESS is a statewide program that connects families of children and youth with special healthcare needs to resources, services and support. The adaptive kits will travel with Sooner SUCCESS staff, allowing them to provide consistent accommodations at events held in communities throughout the state.

The reusable kits will help ensure children have access to tools that support communication, comfort and engagement, creating more welcoming environments where every child can participate alongside their peers.
